Boyz II Men

I went to see Boyz II Men...yes, the group from the late 80's, and yes I also was not aware that they were still singing and performing...perhaps they are broke and are doing concerts in Southeast Asia. But one of my friends saw an advertisement for it so we all took a trip to Kuala Lumpur, because how could you and why would you miss a chance to see Boyz II Men in Malaysia?!
Last Friday I canceled my afternoon class and took the bus to KL which took FOREVER because we left late and our driver drove slow and decided to stop for food for like 30mins. All my friends had gotten to KL the night before and we were supposed to meet at the bus station and take the 5:30 to Genting, which is this little resort town outside of KL where the concert was. I missed the bus by 10 mins which was just annoying, and ended up having to take the one at 6:30 all alone. But I got there on time, and met them all. The concert was actually pretty good! I was impressed. We bought the cheapest seats of course, but the arena was fairly empty so Mitch and I busted our way to the front row - we basically just ran past the guard lady who was checking people's tickets, and sat down in some empty seats, so we were about 10ft away from Boyz II Men, and it actually was them - Mitch was suspicious that they would just put three men up there, because it's not like anyone would ever know. But it was certainly the original Boyz II Men, wearing diamond studded hoodies and jeans with sparkley gold patterns on them. They threw roses and we caught some, and one of them seemed to really like my friend Kearney and sang to her a few times, it was hilarious. We tried to get backstage but failed, although one of the Boyz II Men did come out for a photo with Mitch and Kearney.
Overall, it was a great time. I caught roses from Boyz II Men! Also, Genting is up in the highlands so it was pretty cold there, which felt great. I miss the cold, and it was nice to get chilly and crave hot drinks. The rest of our weekend in KL was also good. Lots of staying up late and going out. Saturday we went to the Batu caves, which are a little outside of KL. It is basically a big cave with a Hindu shrine inside. It was not as great as I expected, but still interesting. We saw a woman there with incredibly long hair - it was in dreads, folded over several times, and still went past the floor! We also found an ice skating rink in KL! We didn't end up skating, but it was still pretty exciting.
The past few days have just been filled with staying up too late, meeting new people, bonding more with friends, and many good things! Life is good :)
